I learned that in April of 1983 Mr David Oates had a most unique mishap. He had dropped his cassette player into the toilet and his attempt to repair it resulted in that it only played backwards. As they say life is stranger than fiction.

The first song that he heard true reversals was "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zeppelin.

Thus began his journey into reverse music.

His interest in reverse music was even more aroused with the news of backward masking was being used in music in 1984. John Lennon of the famed group the Beatles was the first to use back masking in music.

After several years of self studying David joined forces with Greg Albrecht in 1987. They both began to take this whole reverse music and speech to a more serious approach.
